New Construction Stage Inspections

Our stage-by-stage inspection service is designed for clients building a new home who want independent quality checks throughout the construction process.

New Construction Stage Inspections

Quality Checks at Each Stage

These inspections help identify workmanship issues, compliance concerns, and defects before they are covered up or become harder to rectify.

Steel Inspections

Steel inspections are carried out prior to concrete placement to assess whether reinforcement and associated elements appear to be installed in accordance with the approved documentation and visible site conditions at the time of inspection.
This stage is important because once concrete is poured, many issues become concealed. Early inspection helps reduce the risk of costly rectification later.

Concrete Slab Inspections

Concrete slab inspections focus on the slab preparation prior to the pour, including visible site conditions, set-out, reinforcement placement, and general readiness based on what is accessible at the time of inspection.
This is a key stage in any build, as slab defects or poor preparation can affect the performance of the home long term.

Frame Stage / Pre-Plaster Inspections

Frame stage inspections are generally undertaken once wall framing, roof framing, and major structural carpentry elements are in place. This stage allows for review of the visible framing, roof structure, brickwork interfaces, and general workmanship before plasterboard linings conceal the structure.
It is one of the most important stages of the build because many structural and workmanship concerns can still be identified and raised before the next stage proceeds.

Waterproofing Inspections

Waterproofing is a critical component of wet areas such as bathrooms, laundries, balconies, and other areas exposed to moisture. A waterproofing inspection helps identify visible concerns before finishes conceal the membrane system.
Defective waterproofing can lead to long-term water ingress, internal damage, mould, and costly repairs, making this an important stage for independent review.

Pre-Paint Defect Inspections

A pre-paint defect inspection is generally carried out when the build is nearing completion, allowing visible defects, poor finishes, incomplete items, and workmanship concerns to be identified before final touch-ups and completion.
This gives clients an opportunity to have issues raised prior to practical completion, rather than waiting until after handover.

Practical Completion / Handover Inspections

A practical completion inspection, also known as a PCI or handover inspection, is carried out toward the end of the build when the home is substantially complete. This inspection identifies visible defects, incomplete items, finish issues, and workmanship concerns before the client takes possession.
Our reporting helps clients approach handover with greater confidence and ensures defects can be raised before final settlement of the build.

Warranty Inspections

A warranty inspection is usually carried out before the expiry of the statutory warranty period to help identify defects or building concerns that may have become apparent after occupation.
This service assists homeowners in documenting issues within the relevant period so they can raise them appropriately with the builder if required.

Defect Inspections

We provide independent defect inspections for homeowners, purchasers, and property owners who need an experienced assessment of building concerns, workmanship issues, cracking, movement, water ingress, and other visible defects.
These inspections are tailored to the issues presented and can help clients better understand the nature of the concern and the next steps available to them.
